Maison Martin Margiela is set to add some characteristically edgy sparkle to the holiday season. Following on from the killer, futuristic Maison Martin Margiela Crystalactite for Swarovski crystal jewelry pieces that debuted in its couture show in July, the house in collaboration with Atelier Swarovski is readying to release a co-branded capsule of more accessible versions from December.

The line houses a pendant, ring and cuff.

Resembling natural rock with their organic, raw facets, the unique, asymmetric designs were crafted using an avant-garde Crystal Fusion technique that merges crystal with matte white resin during the production process to form a smooth block. The technique is said to have taken four years to develop.

The brainchild of Nadja Swarovski, member of the Swarovski executive board, the Atelier Swarovski crystal accessories collection was launched in 2007 as a showcase for collaborations with talents from across the worlds of fashion, jewellery, architecture, stage and screen.

Collections are released twice-yearly, in sync with the fashion collections. Past Atelier collaborations from the fashion world include Christopher KaneVanessa SewardJonathan Saunders and Marios Schwab, but the Maison Martin Margiela for Atelier Swarovski hook-up marks the first co-branded product launch by the crystal giant with a fashion label.
